It takes a bit of time to get used to a change like this. It has been haphazard up till now version to version. And the themes never feel totally cohesive. Why have different logos for xubuntu and edubuntu etc, why the different names? Why

Water pollution is defined as a change in the chemical, physical and biological health of a waterway due to human activity. I do not think I have stated any falsehoods. If I have supply counter evidence, rather than just poo pooing me. The

Some pollution or environmental damage takes years or centuries to recover from. Desertification and top soil erosion for example. A decade is no time at all. What are you arguing? My point was that electronic waste has a high environmenta

That's sad, I hope that these are the extreme or the one offs, just as I hope you tube comments aren't representative of real people's views. Either way it doesn't make it alright.

It was a metaphor, just google 'high tech pollution' or 'silicon valley pollution' or similar phrase.

You are forgetting the huge subsidies that further hide the real cost of meat from the consumer. Raising animals is such an inefficiant way to farm food, people seldom question this. Unless you can't use the land for anything else. There

It's what they don't deny that still worries me. I was hoping that the family being consumed by the lagoon was a non truth. I read it as tragic comedy (shame on me)

I think the article is fascinating. It shows you how big operations can go wrong, if safeguards are not put in place. The numbers here are mind numbing, this is collossal murder. There has been a series of programmes on industrial modern fa

Why do people comment? Perhaps it's because they can. People can say what they like. But I still have to filter it. And that wastes my time. I like threads and tree like comments as it can be interesting to see the ideas and feedback at pla

Is this what the up arrow is for? I'd rather, insightful, funny, factual. Posting for consensus is pretty pointless in my opinion. Not that it's particularly obvious what that arrow is for in the first place.

Great article. Reminds me of the dogs in Sri Lanka. What I couldn't work out - was whether they were being looked after and by whom. I don't think they were aggressive though.

First impressions. I get what posterous can do from the get go (faq). I don't have a clue what tumblr can do for me. I scrolled through a load of self flagellation on the about page, and it still didn't tell me. Both have stupid names. Aft

Css has been thwarted by poor implementation that has led to confusion, and elitism. With regards to abstraction I don't see why there aren't any excellent WYSIWYG editors.

Exactly. I can't even imagine the awkwardness of having to compile CSS. The advantage of CSS as a text file is speed.

But sadly you have to consider the browser's implementation. Or are you referring to the little macros's or mixins or whatever they are called?

Is a troll another name for devil's advocate? That's the way I see it. You don't know sometimes if the person or the presenting attitude is that of troll or not. Is to troll to be deliberately malicious? Does this really help the debate? Di

In the UK at least, we deal with difficult subjects through satire. But where do you draw the line? I am one for open - although much material on the web is offensive (as seen from me). I'd have rather the images were reprinted, and have th
