Yes, the idea behind a blockchain is a merkle tree of events, metadata and salt that hashes with a predetermined number of 0's (the difficulty) as a prefix. If you wanted to make your event stream more tamper-proof you could also intro

What's the difference between this and opentracing? AFAIK opentracing is built by the people who created Dapper at Google, and the project also has a set of standards for HTTP transport.

Mm it's a little sparse right now - had to dig into the opentracing spec, dig in to the implementations and make it piecemeal. OpenTracing is for everyone - both tracing implementors (eg. Jaeger engineers) and for you implementing trac

Using Opentracing and uber's Jaeger client is awesome. It's easy to implement, and Jaeger provides multiple different mechanisms for sampling traces (always on, guaranteed throughput etc.). It's awesome to be able to see a U

Kubernetes is literally the Angular of orchestration systems. SwarmMode is so much cleaner and less complex to use, dive into, and hack on. I'm unsure why the community rallies behind Kube considering it's insecure, horribly comp

The bold headline steals attention away from the copy; it makes it much harder to focus on the actual content. IMO they could try making the bold header a lighter shade to stop stealing focus. I much prefer the older one for readability.

EFF has a new wordlist which can be used for things like this. It focuses on phonetic and spelling differences across each word so that this doesn't happen, plus it prevents words from "duplicating" when you combine them (ie

It costs the UK £123.7b to run the NHS for a year: http://www.nhsconfed.org/resources/key-statistics-on-the-nhs America spends more than 7 times that for private health insurance. Something's wrong.

No, it's a great solution both from a UX and technical perspective. It's easy to wrap your head around the manager, workers, and how tasks are scheduled from start to finish. Plus, it's secure. Would recommend.

The expressiveness of a language directly impacts the amount of code you need to write for a feature. Go is a concise language but it's not expressive - you'll write 4 lines to call a func and check an error. This means that PRs a
