IMHO, this is more of an indictment of the ORM (sounds like sequelize) than anything else.

It's funny to see these things come around and go around. ~1998, there were quite a few megabytes burnt on discussing Postgres vs. MySql. At the time, MySQL was not ACID compliant, and was (rightly) derided as a database shaped object
