If you lock it with the side button you don’t need to hit the side button again. You can tap anywhere on the screen on the X to wake the screen up while locked. And with the “one second to unlock”. You don’t have to wait for it just swipe u

I’ve never had one fray either and I’ve had every single iPhone, 4 laptops, a watch, and a bunch of extra cables. I do know people that seem to have them fray constantly though. I have no idea what these people do to their cables.

I agree it's a preference. But to me, the custom tags for loops etc is even more putting another language inside another than JSX is.

I lined up pre-reveal to put my preorder in but I've already basically decided it's not for me. Looks kind of bland and the interior appears like it might be ridiculously spartan and the 4wd and performance versions are quite a wa

The trick is - don't try and learn all this shit at once. Make a react app without any extra state management. Just store your state at the top and pass shit down. Add more stuff until it starts to get annoying passing all the callback

React native feels like it's becoming the most sensible default for version 1.0 of anything. Which I have mixed feelings about personally, because I really like the Apple tools and frameworks. But I totally get why RN is so appealing.

There's definitely something going on with the Mac Pro - but I don't think this is it.

Seems like it can't be that hard to use that native code you wrote in your test in the react-native app though. Write the final image to disk. Load the image in an image view. Never pass the data through the JavaScript bridge.

It kind of makes me sad in a way, because I've always loved using apples frameworks. But its really hard to argue with getting android as well for almost free, and even having the potential to share code with a web front end as well. E

I don't think the 11 has ever sold in great quantities. I had one for years (recently replaced with the new 15 pro) and I rarely ever saw another 11 in the wild. If I did it was usually at WWDC. The 13 air however would easily be their

Apple does tout how recycleable it is though. And they have a recycling program. And they run a lot of their stuff (all?) from renewable energy. If you really cared about this from an environmental pov there is far more to it than is it upg

They're not really targeted. You just purchase keywords for your app and then they can display it at the top if someone searches for those words. They're not doing anything fancy like seeing what other apps you have or using any o

I think the idea is you would have a USB-C hub that has all of those ports on it, so you come to your desk to work and plug in a single plug and away you go with charging/monitor/keyboard/mouse/ethernet.

It was more a comment on internet group-think and how people on places like reddit become an echo chamber where people complain about things they haven't even tried themselves. It is a perfectly reasonable opinion to like or not like t

Why even mention the way the iMac display works? Using the machine you would never know and its a very nice computer. The complaints about the mini and pro are legit but there is barely anything to complain about with the iMac.

And screen (p3 colour and macOS still handles hidpi better than anything else), and SSD throughput (3.1gbps), and probably a million other tiny things that you forget about cos they aren't as obvious as a number that says 16 vs 32.
