The problem is that almost everything is simple once you understand it. Once you understand something, you think it's pretty simple to explain it. On the other hand, people say "it's actually pretty simple" to encourage

Funny how that is different in different parts of the city. I'm in Astoria and USPS is the only reliable carrier for my packages. UPS is okay but they don't have the key so often can't get into the building. Fedex just straig

Depends on the location. In NYC, USPS is far more reliable than UPS or Fedex. Just because they can actually get into buildings and leave packages inside.

Yup, it still is. Lots of that in eastern parts of Africa like Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda. I'm sure cell service providers are pretty happy with it since it turned them into banks.

Yeah, the touch bar is quite a turn off for me too. That and the crappy keyboard made me always use the laptop in clamshell mode, which ironically I ended up liking quite a bit.

The thing is, they don't even need to push the envelope. I would have been happy with a classic MBP with upgraded hardware but without USB C ports and no touchbar. It's just that they keep introducing stupid, useless gimmicks.

This so much. I would have upgraded at least twice already if that was an option. Sadly, it isn't and that's why I still use a pretty old model hoping it doesn't get too obsolete soon.

Ahoy's videos are absolutely amazing. So much work goes into them and each one is a full documentary on a particular gaming topic. Can't recommend that channel enough.

That's a fair point. Devise is pretty much standard so it's easy, but you're right that it would make more sense for it to be part of Rails to begin with.

I also don't understand this. Even today, Rails is, by far, the most productive environment that exists for developing a web application. I speak this as someone who also wrote a ton of backends in Node.js, Java, and many other languag

There's surprisingly little detail about the course in the article, just one small paragraph. Especially considering that the course is part of the title. I'd like to know more about what makes the course so effective. The article

Cool idea, but the implementation is kinda crazy. Good enough to just test the idea at home on your own machine, but pretty risky to expose it to the world and let a ton of other people go nuts making bazzilions of requests. Also, exposed A

Post's author is a member of Jetbrains Kotlin team. I wouldn't say he has no idea what language designers are thinking about since he's one of them.

Nice recommendation, thanks. Also a great blog name. "Dedo i Medo" literally means "Grandpa and the Bear" in a bunch of slavic languages.

I completely agree with you, which is why I think that telling people to "just install next.js" is a terrible advice. If they are JS devs, experienced in next, sure, go right ahead, but I don't think that's the case here

Still even with prices of modern insulins I'm not sure it makes much sense. Fiasp is an example of one of the most modern ones and still I can't find a price higher than $125 per 3ml: https://www.goodrx.com/fiasp?d

I don't. I have this link that lists a bunch of providers and their prices and I don't see anyone going over $100 per 3ml cartridge: https://www.goodrx.com/humalog?dosage=3ml-of-100-units-ml&fo... Of course, t

Not sure about some of the numbers there. They say that a 3 month supply is $3700. Humalog without insurance costs $95 per 3 ml cartridge, let's say it's a $100. This would mean that this child needs 37 cartridges for 3 months, or

Yeah I like it too, but it still asks me for the 2 calibrations right after insertion. To be fair, that could be just xDrip+ that wants calibrations.

One of the problems I noticed with Redux is that you need to clean your state. This is one of the reasons why global variables are a problem. If you keep your state in a component, you don't need any housekeeping, once the component is

Dexcom 6 doesn't need to be calibrated anymore. Well, it still needs the first calibration when you insert it, but none other than that. Lasts for some 2-3 weeks before sensor needs replacing.

My experience is quite opposite. I used to be much faster 5+ years ago. I would just jump to a conclusion, execute, and see what happens. I rarely start anything these days without thinking about the problem thoroughly. It results in longer

As a pretty stressed out T1, this sounds like some excellent advice to me. Thank you for this, I will definitely give it a read.
