The amazing thing about this to me is realizing how massively undervalued Stripe is if things like Relay are actually successful. The networks effects created by Relay would be massive.

They're hard to enforce, but I can tell you from experience (current) that it doesn't matter - their existence and enforceability in ANY way in a given state is harmful in a big way. California has basically done the right thing a

There's a weird period during things that appear truly disruptive where the established player may try to buy you. This happens when it becomes clear there's a non-zero chance that the established player may quickly become extinct

Unless the extensive DD reportedly done did not include asking physics people, which would shock me, it appears that there may be some disagreement as to whether this is or isn't plausible. With reports of working POC's already, t

Greg Kidd, the founder of 3taps, did not have to keep fighting this fight - AT ALL. He is one of the top execs at Ripple Labs, was in the first round of Twitter (and Square), and doesn't have his net OR self worths tied up in 3taps. He

Everytime I've ever just yelled "BLOCKCHAIN" as a suggested solution has been exactly half sarcastic. It's comical how often that comes up (in startup circles especially) but also so often has a somewhat plausible applic

This is so, so very wrong - Capital One is crawling with software engineers, they're considered way ahead of most other FIs with what they're doing. The history of Capital One is why this happened - it has acquired so many things

The conclusion from putting the two together is "when you get hard nos from smart people, if you're still compelled by your mission, keep going and work on either changing your story or telling it better".

These rejections are a testament to why you shouldn't give up just because smart people give you a hard "no", but also why storytelling is so important. These investors clearly did not understand Airbnb, and I think the Airbn
