Whooaaa I just realized, unless I'm mistaken, this isn't actually a functional menu. If you add actual href's to the menu items, they don't take you anywhere because as soon as they're clicked the focus is removed, so the href does nothing.

It's amazing the economic value Ana created by posting this. It's gorgeous, and every single web designer can (and where appropriate, should) now use this to make themselves look SO much better. I wonder if the people who have posted the fl

Danielle, have you heard about what Paul Singh is doing with dashboard.io? He basically has made a product out of diagnosing this shit realllllly in depth.

Mailto: links are a hair-on-fire problem for most people. I didn't even know that I could set them to open my Gmail, and I'm a web developer. As long as the pop up also told me what the email was so I could do it in my client if I wanted, t

As an avid Sherlock Holmes fan, this analogy is extremely apt. Holmes would literally starve to death without Watson.

As I understand it, even though they haven't Mirandized him, all that means is if he confesses that confession still won't be admissible. They probably didn't Mirandize him because they don't care 1 bit about getting confession, they want

Read my subsequent comment. Maybe I should make it an edit because it's really important, but I don't ACTUALLY give a shit, and in fact am actually really happy to see Google seeing the same opportunity as me and my partners/clients. They a

A solid idea! I'm pretty dedicated to not having a job and I'm pretty good at it, but if it was anyone but me (or something like that) I'd do it for sure.

In all seriousness, it's pretty cool to see this small bit of validation for what I'm doing. It's not my project (freelance work that I chose bc I liked it), not on the same platform, and not EXACTLY the same, so this is really nothing but

Have you ever been working on something then had some huge company just go ahead and release exactly what you're building? Yeah, um, that totally didn't just happen to me.

I said that very badly, to the point of counteracting my meaning. My father would be so ashamed, nobody tell him.

Yeah I mean I was just making my anecdotal observation. I wouldn't say my community is more than 100 people, and I probably interact with 40-50 on Twitter regularly (in a month). Not a huge sample, just what I can see from my small window i

I don't know how old you are or your profession, but as a 24 year old in the creative community, literally every single person I know is an active Twitter user, and many have replaced it with texting. I live in Richmond, VA so not exactly a

It's going to get harder and harder to get into YC (as has been the trend) which means getting rejected is going to mean less and less. It used to be an "oh we make mistakes, but mostly we find the right founders" and now it's "we find a lo

Yelp is definitely the thought share leader in that category, and I would GUESS the user and revenue leader as well.

Some good points made, but in this instance I think voice and perspective matter, and I'd greatly prefer to see a piece like this written by a woman. A man's voice just does nothing for me in this instance. We could have the "words vs. word

I don't understand why this shouldn't be said without irony. If SRI says he built some part of the original app, perhaps without their engine to power it and really make it awesome, doesn't he deserve some credit? I think he does. Plus Summ

No, that is not a truism. It is a falsism if it is any kind of ism. Instagram has yet to make a single dollar, for an extreme example, and yet nobody would argue it has gained insane amounts of traction since in the mobile photo sharing spa

Since everyone else seems to be finding a reason to be critical, I'll just say: I found this really interesting, and I'm glad you presented the data this way so that I could make my own analysis. It wasn't to say that #1 on the list had mad
