Agreed. I wouldn't either 80% of the time. But often I'm making a very directed search that I would really like the "best" results for where best is usually defined as different than the results I'm getting.

Seems too fine a point for me too. The number of CPUs doesn't matter, that's up to the scheduler. What limits the the scheduler are coordinating shared resources. That includes CPU, locks, memory, disk, network, IO, etc. The multi-node issu

There's a law against that: Leaky Abstractions. As soon as you need to do anything interesting or novel all that complexity smacks you somewhere. Languages just make different tradeoffs as to where they smack you.

A question I've had about this is where are the ready supplies of materials that could be used in the recreation? Could we spread across the hills and still find iron and copper deposits? Aren't these all played out by now? We would need to

GOOG-411 is an example of this process. Google got voice samples and users got a service. When the voice training parameters stopped getting better the service was shut off.

Don't play the game with people like these. That was the real problem. Once their nature and character became evident, which it must have quite early, there was no way to win. Leave and find a better game.

Perhaps it's because software has an obvious history of being buggy. A web service won't be down for a while if this fails, hundreds of lives being at risk on a 24 hour a day basis. Maybe a little wait-and-see is a reasoned approach for a c

My guess is Google setup these APIs to help train their learning algorithms. Now that they are trained there's no reason to keep up the service anymore. Maybe the key is to stay away from APIs that do work and don't contribute to revenue?

So you'll start prefixing all names with a string so they don't clash. Then you'll notice all your related code uses these strings, what a waste, so you'll create a "module" in order to be able to drop the string in a defined context. Thus

It's been quite a while. Apple started down that direction, but then the app storm hit and that has been the end of that. And HTML revs much much slower than any phone API, so the native experience will always be superior.

An equation is a description which is surely an artifact of the mind. At least I'm using forces. So you are saying lift isn't provided as I describe?

I'm not sure why it's not satisfying. The airplane exerts a downward force, the air exerts an equal and opposite force upwards. If you don't change the motion of the air than you can't fly. The typical tear drop wing picture doesn't change

Concurrency is dependent on how threads run your code. Accessing an object's mutable state within a defined thread context has no issues at all. Accessing shared state across thread boundaries is the problem with concurrency. My guess is pe

Shared state is anti-concurrency, but objects don't share state, they hide state behind well defined interfaces which is inherently modular. Actors and objects work together beautifully. Objects handle the behaviour and the Actors separate
