IANAL but wouldn’t a win for Google achieve the result of amending the law? Everyone will reference Google vs Oracle when challenged. Of course if Google looses then the longer process of amending the law could ensue but that sounds like an

history has mostly shown a zero-sum game when it comes to search. Didn’t all of those other search engines you listed die off? Even Bing has been mostly irrelevant in comparison to Google. Also a lot of DDG users came over because they were

A cookie wouldn’t let you continue from another computer (or browser) where you left off. If it stores scores from different “levels” or any significant amount of data local storage would be better than a cookie. Still, that wouldn’t let yo

While I haven’t de-Googled I do mostly stick to Apple products because of the quality and advantages of the ecosystem. I’m more interested in using the best product for what I want to do. While that is sure to be subjective it feels like Ap

Sure but the fact you have to google it every time is not exactly what I’d expect from Apple. I’m sure they will improve this. They must get a ton of support calls over this.

I’m an Apple fan all around. (Even own a homepod). But I have to disagree with “cancelling is easy”. Cancelling a subscription on iOS is so hidden that I can’t say it’s easy. I hope they change this.

Yeah, you still have to resign with your own thing in the keychain. It’s kind of weird and it caused me to hold off for a while. Eventually I caved in because I can’t stand using the mouse so much.

I prefer VIM as my editor but when I write iOS/Mac apps I just suck it up and use XCode (with vim key bindings). While building apps outside of Mac would be cool I think you'll always find most engineers getting sucked back to XCo

That is certainly one way to look at it. I'll propose another way to see it: There are always trade offs. For example, you could hire enough people to simultaneously work on a Mac OS version, a Windows version, an iOS version, an Andro

You’re making an assumption I haven’t already learned real native development but that’s besides the point. Java does solve part of this but some people would rather use JavaScript than Java. Even if they know how to use both believe it or

It also sells the dream of writing an app that works on multiple platforms. The web is good at this but depending on what your app does you might need more. For instance, in Electron you have access to Node. This lets you do things that you
