What problems did you have with Java on FreeBSD? I've done Java, Scala, and Clojure development on FreeBSD and had no problems whatsoever.

For switching folders in Thunderbird: Alt-g-o and select new folder with arrow keys Composing HTML emails need to be disabled for every account. Never had a problem with it.

Ok, so the commented out for loop in the example is also considered "dead". Walkmod detects that it is in fact commented out code and only then removes it. Correct?

So that problem carried over to newer models? This has been an issue with the PowerBook G4 models in the past as well. The iBook G4 models also had this problem but only on the lid button.

Is there a paper/article that discusses and categorizes the differences between IPC mechanism? Their pros and cons etc. What mechanisms are there? What is used on Windows? OS X/iOS? QNX? BeOS? Android? Solaris? etc. The Wikipedia

That is exactly what make supports out of the box. If ${CC} is missing from the Makefile, ${CC} is globally set to the system C compiler i.e. cc Users can use a different compiler by specifying it on the command line via e.g. make CC=cl

For FreeBSD users: FreeBSD's make provides the value of -j through ${.MAKE.JOBS}
