If it used macros I bet that had some effect on the ranking. Macros and CLOS are two things that really take some time to sink in and understand for programmers that don't use lisp much.

I agree with the above asbestos and lead stuff. Even tobacco had the same thing going on when they knew well in advance it was bad. Most people only care when it affects someone they love. When I see big cell towers next to or on top of pla

Some of the other noises I hear are microwaves, humidifiers, outside noise (when the window is open), the grunting printer and the constant gargle of the water cooler.

I used to be this way. I found that working in an editor using asciidoc/markdown is way easier for me. Copy/paste is faster than pen/paper. Also, I can write down notes and snippets of code to make life easier when I am tryin

My personal love for Rails is recent. I had been trying in my one to two hours of spare time on weekends (I am busy with exercise/family/gaming/etc) to build a simple website for my wife's company (simple crud stuff most

As for security, as laurentl suggested the OWASP is a good starting point. From there look at all related security requirements of the country your project/product will be subjected to. For scalability, pick a good database and get rea

My high school was like that. The top ranked students were rich foreign kids. I remember the validictorian giving his speech and no-one could understand what he was saying (in grammar and speech).

I think this is good because it doesn't force customers to use cashless payment. Research has shown that when people don't see physical money being spent that people tend to spend more. However, I live in a country and with lots o

I don't think as of this moment in time there are too many people in the world. However, the problems of work/food/water/housing seem like a population problem but it is more of a resource allocation problem. I think hum

Two things I love to do for monotony are: 1) Take a random stroke from a pen and use that as starting point for making something interesting on a piece of paper. Sounds silly but it is fun and I have had a couple of people ask for them when
