I have used gather.town briefly while attending a symposium. While some of the mechanics are complicated and take time getting used to, it was definitely an interesting experience and unique experience for attending posters in a symposium.

When I first learned Python (2.5, so old!), pygame was my introduction to programming GUIs, sounds, and games. I learned a lot about Python using pygame. I am surprised to see it's still going fairly strong!
