I think it's a fair point. But - what problem are we solving? Do we think there are too few entrepreneurs, and this will help create more? How many is enough, and how much should we spend to create them? The problem Stewart seems to be so

I searched the threads and couldn't find anyone asking this question, but this is a red flag to me: > they have a 90% accuracy rating and 60-100 transactions > a day completed. I have 99,6% accuracy If there's no automated system to

I'm not sure why we keep saying things like this. "X MB/TB of resource Y will be plenty for a while" is almost always something we laugh about 2 years later.

The article makes a good point. But, the title (and comments here) infer that there are a mountain of reasons why people don't use it. Is there a compelling argument against that mountain, or is this just a reminder that Ruby/Python/Closu

This would be great but is, unfortunately, naive. These are exactly the kind of learnings that businesses benefit from by keeping private. Sharing these tips with your competitors, especially in a scenario like this where you'd literally dr

If we're still going with the given example, Facebook didn't create anything except a forum where a mom posted a status update. There's no reason for an advertiser to pay to serve an ad for that. The ad was just given away for free. Unles

90 million users is a great datapoint, yes! In my book that's more than respectable. The only other stat that I'm curious about is the total size of the DB. Certainly databases with tens of millions of records can be held completely in RA

I find these kinds of stories interesting, but without some feel for the size of the data, they're not very useful/practical. I've heard of Bump, and used it once or twice, but I don't actually know how big or popular it is. If we're talki

You may have mis-interpreted the fact that because 1.6% of your users have IE, that means that you're in a space where those customers won't use IE. What it may mean is that you don't have very many customers. If you were mainstream, you'd

I'm interested in the strategy of focusing on customers for whom $29/mo is intimidating. Certainly a lot of them are served (perhaps not well) by the ebay's and etsy's of the world, but in both cases their featuresets have evolved to cater
