One or two servers (second one for redundancy, at another location). File storage would be the expensive part. Starting at 10-20TB usable space with slots for more would be nice. The location would either be at my parents', as I move o

We should probably classify the crawler identifying problem as impossible and move along. Less resources wasted and easier automation for everyone. Assuming a crawler is malicious is narrow-minded.

I find it sad that we need a specific software for ebook hosting. Couldn't we find a solution that doesn't require a special server for hosting each file type? Then front-end plug into that?

There is still a header to send. Talking about SVG that are on average 465 bytes, a 867 bytes header (as sent by GitHub[0]) is not negligible. HTTP compresses headers though, so according to [1] we can expect ~30% header transferred size&#x

How do you recommend people send those to the front-end (assuming a web interface)? One request per icon as done in the README is extremely wasteful. Is there a format that allows importing multiple SVG in one request? Embedded at build tim

You could just output raw frames into a file and read it using ffplay or vlc. The easiest pixel format is probably RGB 24 bits. ffplay -f rawvideo -pixel_format rgb24 -video_size 42x42 -framerate 42 foo.raw vlc --demux rawvideo --

uBlock Origin allows you blocking font requests so it uses the fallback. I have it turned on by default and it's only an issue with icon fonts.

Mine got disconnected for about 30 minutes. Then I just calculated the rate I needed for the duration I found acceptable (one week for a single country) and let it run at this rate; no issue then.
