They do some things really well. I like the speed and effectiveness of the sync across various devices and OSs, like a personal pastebin. I have a subscription, and was hoping that they'd converge towards something like a wiki, where t

Since the content is basically plain-text already, read-only access to all of them at the very least shouldn't cause any problems. I was wondering though, since my Nextcloud storage is encrypted, does the SQLite file get synced as well

I think this is working fine now. I do have one current irritation, but understand that it is resolved by getting all the clients updated. (Just waiting on NixOS to update its version). Basically, I enabled encryption, synced devices one at

I should work on doing so more often, but occasionally post to https://fractaldragon.net/ . Really, it should be one of those things, like journalling I suppose, that most people should try and do now and then. Get some thou

Speaking of the ad-block message, perhaps it is worth adding who/what ethicalads.io is. I too un-blocked them on yours site, partially because their approach seems more justifiable than others I've run across. I wouldn't even

I've got some Reolink Argus 2s, which are probably Linux under the hood. They're not set up to stream locally without an app, unlike their wired models, but there are likely functionality limitations due to being battery powered.

That is possible, it probably wasn't intended to contain severe pressure from the inside. Of course, being rated to only about 1/3 of that depth from the outside isn't reassuring either.

I'm not so sure about that, pics of the wreckage being offloaded onshore show that dome being moved with a sling through the hole where the porthole should be. I don't think they would have removed that just to move it, especially

With Garmin watches, the GPS tracking is enabled when you start an activity. So you're not using it all day, it's for the hour or two that you're out doing something. My old Fenix 3HR is good for close to a week with a daily

That looks awesome, thanks! I already have some ESP32 devices acting as weather sensors that log to a Raspberry Pi over MQTT. I might have to add this too.

Yes, services should be sustainable. That isn't the same thing as enabling them to extract as much money as possible in a short period of time before selling out, which is often the target these days. Develop a long-term plan that buil

The BME 680 does temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and VOC gas sensing. Maybe there's something reasonably-priced that does particulates, but this doesn't seem to be it. What's a good alternative?
