I'm aware but rereading it was unclear. I more was asking/bantering about todos. Sharing docs via HTML export is great

org-mode appears to be thriving these days, or always was, but either way I'm really glad to see. I only picked up emacs last year after being a die-hard vim user for 8+ years and org-mode was a large reason why. I wanted to learn how

I suppose, but I've never encountered a production site that was using Gunicorn or similar as a true server. Usually that's coupled with something like Nginx or HAProxy. So yeah, you technically don't need one for Ruby or Nod

I don't find this to be true at all. > you need an external server Spoiler, you need an external server for everything on the web; you've just been brainwashed to think serverless is actually that.

org-mode blog! How do you like it? Been considering this for myself recently but haven't looked into RSS much. I like the theme you built.

I remember using XMPP for a site I built that connected tenants and landlords, a reverse MLS of sorts. Back then, I choose XMPP because I had heard this is what Facebook was using at the time for their new messenger and it provided services

Some of this is solved with locked dependencies and an understanding of how "npm install" actually works, but I find this point really takes away any credibility for this article: > This is just one of the reasons why I think b

From a UX standpoint, for the writer, threads a great way to spin off thoughts without caring about the long-format. Maybe there's an opportunity for existing blogging platforms to pick up this cue. Provide an app or experience that ma

This. Please, we don't need any more wage slaves in this industry. I already work with a bunch of people who don't have any interest in correct solutions but would rather just ship code. Feedback is non-existent or unwelcome. If t

I actually just started doing this in my architecture notes. You can inline source code in org-mode that renders a graph png. #+BEGIN_SRC dot digraph { a -> b b -> a } #+END_SRC You can look into graphviz and dot

Compton sounds familiar, I think that's what I was confusing for wayland before. It adds a bunch of transparency effects and other "nice to haves" but I believe I had similar issues. Drivers on Linux have always been ... non-

I literally just posted a comment in an earlier thread that the only reason I dual boot Windows is for EAC support. This is awesome news. We can finally play Fallout Guys on linux!

I've tried some, Sea of Thieves primarily. SoT performs better on Linux for me but the online experience has a lot to be desired. Microphone doesn't work, anything Microsoft live is absent ... though playable. I'd say that 9&

Good point! The motherboard I have apparently allows for this but it never saves? I tried playing with it for a week before giving up. Ultimately, I ended up dual-booting windows and using the official brand tool to do something to the moth

I don't believe I am, I'm using Fedora + i3 but I don't have any transparency or special fx on the windows. I do remember setting that up on my last machine but it never looked great so I left it out this time.

Used this for a small linux GUI proof-of-concept. I really liked it. It was awesome to use something I'm familiar with (Next.js) and have it drive the UI. Resulting application was indeed about 1MB after all said and done.

Interested in this project! Ever since Redis become much more than a KV, I've been seeking something a bit simpler. I'll admit, Redis is simple to get stared with, but there is a lot to learn once you do. What goals does Beryl hav

Cool. My family lives on LI and my other half of the family doesn't live in Central Jersey. I swear, everyone posting with "BUT I CAN AFFORD IT" is absolutely tone deaf to the US housing crisis we're in.

I live in NJ. I can't afford a house with a $200k+ salary because every house that's even half-way decent is either outside my price range or is bought up in cash above asking price. Must be nice to be so cushioned from reality.
