Restricted App Store rules eg. disallowing external web browsers or interpreters hinder technology much more than web standards. Talk is cheap - would love to see some of yours "not lame" piece of work.

yea because it's much better to have closed, restricted app markets (like Apple, Google, Microsoft ones) than web standards.

Firefox still does not seem to support fully web components (html templates, custom elements, shadowdom see http://caniuse.com/#search=shadowdom ) I hope they will get there fast - this will put pressure on dinosaurs like

except Dart compiles to effective JS (see Dart perf) + mixins + await async (soon) + less verbose + good unified package system + ... yea sure - almost nothing.

DART has Erlang style actors that support concurrent threads of execution - so yes. Shared memory no AFAIK, but Dart seems to have nicer syntax.

Nice but my next laptop will be some Chromebook + ElementaryOS rooted - if all you use is terminal/sublime and browser - Mac is a waste of money.

I still think - Dart is a better response to JS issues: a) good SDK and package system (pub.dartlang.org) b) clean break from JS (what if future JS will be incompatible with current TS ?) c) perf - realted to b) you can't eg. add prope

It's hard to believe. Do you use CSS frameworks like TB derivatives ? It seems your comment regarding ShadowDOM not helping layouting issues is not entirely true. Take a look on: polymer-grid-layout polymer-flex-layout polymer-layout

Do you actually do web dev ? How many times you struggled with mingled CSS ? Since there is no ShadowDOM CSS boundry - it's hard to make sure some top level CSS rule is not breaking your very special div style. Now compare this numbe

IMHO single most important new CSS tech web badly needs is ShadowDOM - this will make web dev suck less compared to native toolkits development [edit added below] ...since we will be able to componentize web apps. Thinking in terms of compo

CSS seems too complex (and is) because you can't EASILY set boundry for rules in inner elems. This problem is solved by ShadowDOM. It's easier to think in CSS when top level css is only top layout plus theme color setting. Try Po
