Pirating Windows is not realistic for most people? From my experience, paying for Windows is what is not realistic for most people.

That's apples to oranges. A laptop includes many pieces of hardware you probably don't understand as part of your desktop PC (think keyboard, screen, loudspeakers, ...), is carried around all day, and sometimes suffers some abuse

Video hosting sites lose money, so it's not like a contender will ever appear, unless the EU pours a ton of money into it, and not even then (just imagine how many EU funds Dailymotion has probably taken)
