I do not trust LLMs. They may very often be right, and may very often be useful, but I do not trust them. If you require correct results, their output should be checked somehow.

What would be an example sentence in which using the Oxford comma makes the meaning of the sentence less clear?

I have only used a travel agent once. It was a helpful service for me at the time, but I think I paid roughly 40% over what I could have had I arranged everything myself. In other words -- a great business to be in!

When working in an open cubicle office, I have deliberately had multiple tabs of audio going, such as, brown noise, white noise, air conditioning sound effects, and light instrumental music.

Much commercially viable music is indeed pretty formulaic... so much so, that I wonder why we would even need something as sophisticated as "AI" to autogenerate it.

Might also consider Winston's other book more focused on AI (rather than Lisp): https://people.csail.mit.edu/phw/Books/index.html#AI https://courses.csail.mit.edu/6.034f/ai3/rest.pdf

Indeed -- why would it even need to be a GPT system? But I personally do not want a chat interface. I find communicating with a computer via natural language to be more cumbersome than using a decent traditional interface. Perhaps some bank

I wonder if it's "fixed" or if it's just less obvious. It seems that an LLM would "hallucinate" a bogus answer if it didn't actually have a good answer somewhere in its training. Is GPT4 so much more train

It may be a while before we can entirely trust ChatGPT to give us all the answers. I find the whole premise of ChatGPT -- or indeed, neural network systems in general -- to be untrustworthy. That does not mean useless! But more like a fir

Maybe I’m a pessimist, but I’m skeptical about how this works out in the long term. People can barely handle the cashier-less kiosks at Mcdonald’s, and now you want them to talk to an AI? I'm generally ambivalent or even opposed to i

Who are the 1%? Will they ever become those new genre pioneers if they don't spend time working on some of that 99% work first? Which they might not do any more, if AI does it instead?

I used C++ in the 1990s and thought it felt messy and unpleasant. I've largely avoided it since then, but reading some more recent documentation, I think I would like today's updated C++ more than what I experienced decades ago.

Thank you again. I did not mean to claim that you disregard literally all rules, and I apologize for coming across that way. I find your explanation sound and reasonable. There are many rules that, even if not necessarily liked, are not suf

Ah, so you are not disregarding this particular rule , but you disregard all rules that you feel impede you. That answers my question, thank you -- this has nothing in particular to do with GPT tools.

Companies banning the use of ChatGPT level tools going forward will find the rules either flouted, subverted or the employees going elsewhere. Why? Companies typically have many rules that they expect employees to follow. Why would employ

I remember the 2nd edition coming out in printed form years ago. Perhaps there was some update in March of 2023, or perhaps this particular set of HTML files was published in March, but overall, the book has been out for a while.

This is true in aerospace software. Lots of process, lots of specification, lots of verification. I wouldn't want to say that GPT-seque tools would be useless here, but I really don't see them offering the same kind of magic lever
