Semver seems like a huge problem here, blindly pulling in changes is just asking for a lot trouble, intentional or not. I'd also say NPM's centralized naming structure is also problematic, people don't want to update 1000

It has improved in some ways but it's still incredibly fragmented, maybe more so with CSS-in-JS, TS, Flow, etc. Especially with the potential of languages like Elm, Rust, Go and others via WASM, it's going to be very hard to justi

Do you guys find CloudWatch logs too slow? Even on very small apps I find searching the past few days takes minutes (5-10m), but I'm using "structured" JSON logs as well.

My uptime monitoring project uses AWS Lambda heavily, almost exclusively https://apex.sh/ping/ — it has been great. I've processed 3,687,727,585 "checks" (requests really) with it, and I only had roughly

This is awesome, congrats! I'd love to be able to send invoice emails, and/or retrieve links for invoice PDFs and list those in your application for download (or re-sending of email). Seems a bit bizarre as the infrastructure for

https://neutrino.js.org/ is my go-to, I have no gripes with Webpack as a technology, but I don't think it's what people should use on a daily basis abstraction-wise.

It's good to have critical thinking skills, if people can't figure out if they want to use a tool or not, they should probably work on that a bit!

It's not a troll, this is for AWS Lambda, where size impacts deployments and cost starts. See my comment below about the automation, I think it could/should be done too!

Thanks! I do all the design stuff myself. I wouldn't call myself a designer, but I do enjoy it either way!

Ideally people use the "files" array. It might be nice if someone writes a bot to go around and fix large packages by adding that.

Yep it uses AWS Lambda currently, you'll usually end up paying < $1 for small side projects such as https://gh-polls.com/ etc, but it definitely depends on your traffic. This project looks like it's more FaaS s

Absolutely! I really think that should be payed forward as well, I'd love to do the same with my projects since they lean heavily on other work, but ultimately you have to become sustainable first or there isn't much to give back.

Sure, but individuals can just use the OSS version, or something like Netlify which is ideal for static anyway. Pricing that seems expensive to individual developers is pennies for any real business. I regret to inform people, but the world

For sure, but I think a lot of people have to realize they're not the target market for this kind of thing. You simply cannot make a living from people trying to run their side projects for < $5/m. Seeing people complain about

Isn't React the slowest and largest React-like implementation anyway? Seems like this will just foster "nicer" implementations, I don't see what the worry is all about. It's not like React is some behemoth that can&

NOT NULL bugs me too, but not so much because nulls are possible, more so that I think it should be inverted since that's the common case (at least for me).

I use Netlify as well, great service! From my quick tests their home-grown CDN seems on par with CloudFront et al, hard to go wrong.
