I think that's precisely the point. You wouldn't want to touch your security key every time you commit anything. Given the (intentional) high friction, it's probably best left for operations that are high value, such as tags

Do you mean it doesn't load without js? Unfortunately that's correct, because it needs to perform a hash check before displaying the content, to ensure it matches the expected digest from the URL

By definition, if a library is updated (even at the same semver version), something in its behaviour must have changed. By Hyrum's law, that's a breaking change at least for someone. It makes no sense to try and enforce versioning
