If all "tropical forests" were in a single country, at 0.425 Gigatons per year of emissions that country would be the #14 most polluting in the world! [1] The article above estimates 0.425 Gigatons of carbon dioxide per year being

Excited to launch this! We worked with Carbon Engineering to get their carbon captured using direct air capture. We believe it's the first consumer product to use direct air capture.

I'm not familiar with "cyclic organic structures". The article says they're hard for chemists to make and perhaps biology makes it easier -- but why are they useful in the first place?

I think HN is a great platform to discuss climate solutions because it isn’t a climate change community. Curious to hear from others as well! To me, how “real” something is correlates roughly with the number of people pursuing it, and how

I tried their calculator with 18 tons (36,000 pounds). It said ~1050 trees @ $0.10 per tree, so $105 total per year. vs $45 or whatever on Terrapass. Let’s shoot for an order of magnitude difference. How might we sell it for $4.50 a year?

Fascinating to think the climate has so many different variables. Such a large system, a little pressure in one spot results in a spike somewhere else. “They must be stopped, she believes, and the 2015 CDC map shows why. In it, ticks are se
