8 cds for a penny is ridiculous, so there has to be a catch. $39.95 for a pair of shoes sounds quite reasonable. Having to pay for a membership without performance is ridiculous.

I see 6 month chargebacks on a regular basis (dealing with consumer fraud is fun), so these definitely happen, they're possible and if consumers can do it when they are the ones defrauding the merchants there will be a lot less trouble when

Prices are already down and it definitely isn't 2014 yet. 3T is about the sweet spot right now, it's never been much cheaper than it is today. 2T is a bit more expensive than before the floodings, but a part of that is that there is simply

That's nonsense. The only time a chargeback makes sense is after the payment has already gone through.

Zero. The credit card processing chain is quite complicated, with banks, card companies, ISPSs, processors and merchants all having fairly clearly delineated roles. A merchant - no matter how big - implementing the whole chain is unheard of

If you want to compare rails to something compare it to Yii. If you want to compare something to PHP compare it to Ruby. Comparing Rails and PHP is just plain dumb.

Don't ask for a refund, go to your bank or CC company and charge back the 6 months. That'll hit them where it hurts. Little known fact about chargebacks: the merchant pays an administration fee, typically $20 to $50. Per charge! That is why

The whole fun of the ioccc is to go through the code and figure out how it is done. Without the code this is a non-event.

If I were presented with the 'fizzbuzz' test on a job interview I'd walk out. I would really hate to work in a place that had such a ridiculously low bar to entry that they would consider that a valid test.

Not all VCs are equal, and I apologise for lumping in the good with the bad. But there are plenty of examples of venture capitalists (and angels too) taking advantage of inexperienced entrepreneurs. And in that case it helps a lot if you ge

$150 or $1000 might be enough to swing the decision about where to incorporate for some instances but for most that is a rounding error. And anyway, all expenses that you are going to have should be part of your businessplan when you're at
