I've dated someone studying Biology/Biochemistry for a while. This was interesting because the field itself is interesting so we had a lot to talk about. She was doing a PhD in a subject that was important to me (diabetes) and that I got to

That's a tricky one. On the one hand I'd say just a guy with paint on his shirt, but the fact that you know what Cadmium Yellow is definitely qualifies you as a painter!

Because once you've won a race there is no point in continuing to run. Access to space never was about access to space to begin with, it was a showdown on the world political stage.

Thank you very much for that reply. I have a 590 and I'm pretty happy with it, been eying the 690 but I wasn't able to find any real world non gaming benchmarks.

If you haven't dealt with an elevated fraud risk yet then you are not yet running a successful business. Dealing with fraud and abuse takes up a good percentage of the time and other resources at any successful online service. If you don't

Bezos may be a very smart guy, but I don't see - short of him becoming an expert in quantum physics - how his investing or not investing in this company means anything with respect to them being onto something.

I'm imagining a swarm of these running in to stuff, hot exhausts + gas = the occasional crash. Suddenly you have a bunch of fires to contend with instead of just one! Better use electrically powered ones (though the range may be prohibitive

Three years late to the party (because I couldn't afford a CD player) one customer instead of defaulting on a payment offered me his CD player instead. It came with this CD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brothers_in_Arms_%28Dire_Strait...

It's only illegal if you get convicted seems to be the current thinking. As far as using that data is concerned, that's not a god given right, you could easily write terms-of-service that allow just that. See Gmail.

It's simply a factor of how many people use a given medium. As soon as a large fraction of the population uses it then legislators will start to care about it. The only way to bring back the internet of the 90's is to start a new one. And o

The biggest single factor that makes biking safe is a legislative one. If you adopt the model where hitting a bike with a car automatically puts the car in the wrong you can lose the helmet.

Do you have an amazon credit card? As far as I know they use GE as the issuing bank, they may have other deals in place. As far as I know - but this may very well be wrong or at least out of date - amazon does not have a banking license and

39K worth of Forth is a very large program. Most forth code never grows beyond a couple of screens. That doesn't mean there isn't a lot of functionality, it just means that forth is unusually dense.

And even then that's not the whole chain. After all, a GE capital card is backed by another card company: http://www.gemoney.com.au/en/credit_cards/index.html Piss off VISA/MC/JCB/AMEX and you're in trouble.
