I think that's reflective of how experience levels change your perspective on how to approach a problem. Someone with command line experience that is mostly a user of system utilities would think passing the output of ls through a filter is

You are entirely missing the point of this whole thing. It is exactly about showing how hard it is to get a trivial change right in every detail. Your 10 second hack is what is wrong with 10 second hacks in general and even with most real s

They're both valid approaches. The one is classic sales copy, the other is the new hip web x.0 look. It's worth nothing that omniture pulls in a very very large amount of money, so they must be doing something right.

All you'd really need to do is to find a way to simulate 'regular' (discrete) life. Setting it up would be a major pain.

Mind blown pretty much describes what I felt like when I first came upon it. After spending a good bit of time optimizing 'life' having your ass handed to you by a large number of orders of magnitude courtesy of mr. Norvig is a good lesson

If you're going to buy one stock it doesn't really matter how much another stock will increase in the next year ;) (I'm prety sure that Appell Pete Corp would be psyched if enough people make this mistake).
