Interesting idea, but (a) unless you ensure the second or third item is cut-off on all device sizes (may be possible with css tweak), it won’t be obvious that there’s more, and (b) how will windows users scroll horizontally? With a scroll b

Love the idea of a blog post like this. I tried something very similar a couple weeks ago on a c++ project, both in hopes it might lead to an improved user experience, and also for others struggling to figure it out. https://gith

Ah, it was MooTools, not dojo! It’s the examples cited in that article (e.g. String.prototype.contains()). Thanks!

Oooh, fascinating. If I recall correctly, this happened once before in JavaScript. One of the Array.prototype methods has an unintuitive name because dojo, a very popular utility library at the time, monkeypatched the Array object with the

This sort of attitude always made me feel like an outsider and a newb in communities. Looking back, it seems it’s just a pet peeve that has the consequence of raising the barrier to entry. There are just way more constructive and welcoming

PostgREST has an interesting approach to authentication that might give you some ideas: https://postgrest.org/en/stable/auth.html Supabase is built on top of PostgREST, but I can’t say for sure it uses the same me

But if you sign up for services with papertrail@, what about when that service sends you something you need to take action on? (Update payment details, etc) Wouldn’t you miss it?

I’m impressed safari is at the table. If I understand correctly, they only fix bugs once every six months, and don’t give any indication of timelines as matter of policy. For example, hasn’t locaStorage been broken in safari for ages? Or am

I was just thinking about this at the weekend. One approach is to use a tool that supports [[Wiki-style Linking]], and have a kind of index/table of contents/home page for your notes.

Any advice on syncing with iOS? I use iA Writer, but the syncing experience is awful because iA Writer is waiting for some sync provider (e.g. Dropbox) to implement the full iOS Files API, which it appears no one has done. That leaves iClou

Nice article. I assume websites show some of the numbers not because users may have multiple phones but because users may change their number over time (and maybe they’ve not updated their phone number since opening the account 8 years ago)

I’d love a “how’s it work” section. From what I gather, it’s not wasm or anything; rather, it’s transpiling lua to JS at runtime. Is that right?

I tried switching to DuckDuckGo years ago, but found the result quality just didn’t match google - it wasn’t getting me to what I was after. Now I feel that way about google even more strongly, so perhaps I’ll give DuckDuckGo another go. PS

I’m super excited for this! One thought though, on the syntax. Wouldn’t it be a bit odd if suddenly this line in a README.md: ```js const foo = 1 + 1 ``` Rendered as: `2` ? Isn’t that kind of what we’re doing here with

It strikes me that when we say we’re “signing” a file/commit/etc. (using a key), a “seal” is probably a more appropriate analogy, since someone could steal your key just as someone could steal the seal.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Hadn’t come across the HTML JSON form syntax before. Good to know memorising the httpie request language will have some side benefits in that it’s closely related to a standard in use elsewhere.
