But if you GET /posts/123 and then do it again, and in between, the author updated the post, you’d expect to get the latest version of the post, no? That doesn’t make it non-idempotent, because your GET requests did not change the

Idempotency in the HTTP context is about the ability to make the same request multiple times without side effects. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Glossary/Idempotent

Nice! I do something similar for a few production applications, but I use docker compose to bring the services up, so I don’t have to create the networks manually or remember all the command arguments. Works great.

But in the movies, when someone’s on the run, they take the SIM card out, stomp on it, and leave it behind. How will this work in the world of eSim?

Bummer about Python :/ it’s my go-to for CLI tools, but I’ve seen that problem too.. pipenv helps, but I wonder if there’s a better way to package them so they’re more future proof.. or do I really need to learn go?

Interesting.. Would this be effective at loading a remote CSV file with a million rows, then performing basic GROUP BY COUNTs on it so I can render bar charts? I’ve been thinking of using absurd-sql for it since I saw https://new

Wait is this like Google inc rebranding as Alphabet and owning Google as its main product, or is the social media platform being renamed to Meta along with the company?

Oh wow, very relevant indeed! I guess I thought ephemeral DBs would be better so that a user’s expensive query wouldn’t bog down the db for other users. And rather than just limiting them, enabling them to do whatever queries they could wit

This sounds great! I’ve wanted to create an open data portal for a while that lets you spin up a (ephemeral, read-only) Postgres database of a dataset and run queries on it, maybe with a notebook. Sounds like this might be perfect!

I was thinking the same thing recently for looking for a flat with a partner/roommate. A collaborative triage/kanban style system for reviewing/contacting/setting up a viewing would be great, but a typical user would onl

Note that authy’s login (twilio login) uses sms-based 2fa itself, which is very vulnerable to sim-swap attacks. There is no way to disable sms 2fa on it. To counter this I recommend disabling device sync in Authy, and only enabling it tempo

Anyone know if this is possible in Google sheets? Also, one thing I always find challenging when applying formulas to a column is applying it to the entire column. Either you remember to copy and paste it when you add a new row, or you drag

Interesting, hadn’t heard of these! My guess is the complexity of parsing csv consistently extends a bit beyond that (e.g. handling line breaks), but the bigger problem is getting enough traction behind any solution, no matter how spot on i

Interesting side effects of css utility frameworks: I was trying to scrape a website that uses tailwind this week and it’s really difficult, as nothing had a unique class name.
