Hey reymook, great story. A similar thing happened to me. The startup that I was building was going all right business-wise, but constant, relentless pressure from the financier was ruining my life (I programmed, he paid and did sales). I h

Adobe is also taking on this problem: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/wallaby/ These tools could win out on price, stability or simplicity but if Adobe doesn't screw this up, they I'd put my money on Flash due to it's advanced features

Thanks for the link. It was a long weekend in Canada, and I went 48 hours without Internet access! ;)

Thank you. Great info. Hopefully, they'll add vector graphics soon. That's a big oversight in my opinion. That's usually where I start in Flash...

Good for Hype for taking this problem on! Has anybody with professional Flash animation experience used this product? I think that there is a great market for something like this but I'm wondering if it's ready for prime time yet. The demos

I just confirmed that it's a hoax with someone at a company that owns screens in Times Square.

This is the biggest factor in Flash going away. In our shop, we have a guys that would never be able to code in a text editor but can bang out great looking advertising at amazing speeds (which means cheap production costs) because of the F

That is correct. I lived there for 3.5 years and now live in downtown Toronto which is the opposite of suburban Detroit in terms of population density and sprawl. Don't get me wrong, I really love Detroit but its city planning is a huge con

I'm tired of Detroiters blaming white flight for everything. I brought up 8 mile as an example but Woodward is just as bad dividing the white people in Royal Oak from the white people in Berkeley. You can't walk across the street with those

That's a good point but it's chicken / egg. Now every new boulevard in Greater Detroit is divided so that it can be filled with Michigan Lefts.

I like how the Wikipedia article does not mention how this strategy turns the streets into soul sucking suburban wastelands. The Michigan left may reduce accidents, but it divides neighbourhoods (reference: anywhere on 8 Mile). This is a ve

Yes, I completely agree but it's kind of like kids reading comic books over literature. At least they are reading. Having a health book at the top of New York Times bestseller list is never a bad thing (unless it's something unhealthy like

Whoa. I hit a nerve there. He didn't ask what he shouldn't learn. He asked what he should learn. I suggested that he learn Java because it is so completely different from PHP. That's all.

I've read most of the book and it's an entertaining read at worst and full of fitness tips you may use at best. You just have to glance around America to see that whatever the media spews at us about health isn't working. I say, good for h

If you really want to excel and learn, pick up Java. It is so completely different from PHP that you'll learn a tonne (and likely appreciate PHP more). The upside is that there is always a market for Java developers (not that there isn't o
