Good link, but it's a 58-page slideshow. Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqzcCfUglws for a slightly more applied explanation.

Good find. The background on how we got to this point is really interesting. I think it's fascinating how use cases and the functionality evolve over time. Really puts a stake in the heart of the idea of the magical unicorn visionary p

This is a great writeup. It's not as FUD-y as other's I've seen. https://bitcoinfoundation.org/2014/06/13/centralized-mining/ is another good read. Where OP's link is more technical,

This is a sales pitch. There's no actual content, and OP is a 12-day old account with only links to coursmos.com :( https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=Julia_Eremina

Awesome. Reminds me of "Trust Me, I'm Lying". I don't recommend using any of the techniques in the book, but if you're interested in media, the book provides a unique view into the guts of the system. http:/&#

Yeah, it's a bit disingenuous. I like cross-platform toolkits, and I like native code, but you're right about missing the weight of profit. Lies, damn lies, and statistics, right?

It's really really hard to get companies to care about accessibility. I have a background in accessible web coding, Section 508 accessibility stuff, and I've seen how people think about accessibility. Basically -- they don't.

This reminds me of something I've noticed... Apple has had a big effect on corporate folks. They see the awesome stuff happening on their personal devices, and they look at internal systems and say "why can't it work as well

That's a cool experiment. Feels like something from Getting Things Done, which is a great book. Also kind of feels like Ben Franklin-ish, who made very specific and conscious attempts to improve himself. Are you doing this, or did you

Good post. This is why I like screencasts. Writeups are a version of reality. Unfortunately writeups are faster to produce. Trade offs!!

There's definitely opportunities with AngelList's data as well. Please let me know if you start finding some clever use cases, I love knowing how these tools end up being used! tim @ my-HN-username . com

I get an imgur or Brightcove-for-images vibe. If you're going for the first and your target is Reddit/similar, good job. If you're going for the second, then it needs a lot more.

I would ask friends and family for recommendations. Someone could be useless and have a great website. Similarly, someone might be so good at getting business from word of mouth that they don't need a website. FWIW Berkshire Hathaway h

I wish this blog was still active. This was a good post, and there are some others too. Nothing actionable, but it does a nice job of explaining business history, and that's valuable.

There's something very true about this. I have a mentor who can be very 'direct'. Similarly to Jobs, he's extremely busy. There are a lot of people who don't like him. I understand why, but I've also learned an

Are you the author? I love the "Do not deify technology or assign salvific powers to Technology". I think you could write a whole blog post on that subject alone. Agile alone has been overpromised by so many people (consultants),
