As others have commented, when you're first starting out as a freelancer, it's helpful to start in your local community at in person events. Meetups, niche events, networking events, etc. Of course, the frequency of such events depends on y

The commercial breaks on Hulu+ range from 15 seconds to 1 min 45 seconds (I've found they're heavily on the shorter side for me). That's significantly shorter than commercial breaks on broadcast television or cable in my experience . Was i

I can't read any of those questions/answers because I'm not logged in to Quora. Which, in my opinion, further proves my point. Find me a real world person who googles a question and is able to find a Quora answer as a result. To each their

I think there could be something to models like this. I saw a startup trying something like this recently (I think it was called MoviePass?). My wife and I see around 2 movies a month on average, and we probably saw 3-4 a month before we ha

Unless your site is for people who know what a "domain hack" is, you need a .com domain. People in the real world either go directly to the .com version or Google it. They're not going to remember your name or domain name if it's somethin

Find out if anybody needs or wants it first. The worst thing that can happen is that you spend X amount of time building something that you never determined anybody needed or wanted in the first place.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but Chicago has had this for the CTA for years. What's the big deal? Is it because New York has such an expansive subway system that this is such a big accomplishment?
