Bootstrap has default/fluid/fixed to choose between, which can be confusing. In terms of mechanics, you nest .container, .row, and .span# and .offset#. It's just more complex. I don't know how Pure does nested because I

I have used Bootstrap, Skeleton, and a few others. After a quick read of the docs, here is what I like about Pure: 1. It's lightweight. 2. It is stylistically plain. 3. The grid system is straightforward.

No. I realise that I over-simplified that part by highlighting only two opposites: belief and unbelief. I do realise there are degrees of distinction between belief in a deity and atheism, and there are polytheism and agnosticism as well. I

I think his 'theory' that discussions have more potential to be divisive when they involve our identity is dead on. His advice to 'keep your identity small', follows on from that premise well. Many people let their ident

It's the same kind of argument made about ruby being 'developer friendly.' My hunch is that the brain is so much more complex than _any_ programming language - that drawing out likenesses to one over the others is overdoing it. It's like s

The title is overly pessimistic. We may have wanted flying cars, but the mobile internet is far more empowering/revolutionary than moving cars to the air. The problem the article highlights will self-correct. Twitter is a good additional ne

I guess it's natural for successful people to be treated like sages, but I've commonly had the same feeling the OP expressed - you have to wade through people's 'wisdom'. Sometimes they are just out of touch.

The unofficial download has been available for a while. It's pretty neat, you can build programmatically. Here's the best part. On my (slightly tweaked) 512MB Raspberry pi, this runs flawless at fullscreen, way smoother than on my MacBook P

My evolution as a JavaScript Developer: 1. I found out I could use Rails helpers to make really cool stuff. It generated ugly JavaScript code and errors that no one could see. No one got hurt. Win. 2. I realized I could use Prototype.js dir

I'm nearly done with my thirties - a time when many of us start to feel uncomfortable about how much time we have left to make our mark. I didn't make a ton of money or change the whole world in my twenties, but I did marry a great woman ea

Sorry, I didn't mean to disparage open source or people creating open source software - I love it!. The point I was trying to make was that even people with good ideals are fallible.

It's certainly not Twitter's fault. Lately, the open source community's underbelly has been exposed. "But open source is right and we are the good guys?!", or... "But I know those guys and they are usually really cool!" We want to categoriz

This attitude will go a long way toward healing our schools' deficiencies. My own school experience (in the USA) was pretty painful at times. Since graduation I've realized that I actually love learning - it's probably my greatest drive. Sc
