I ran into this a few months ago when texting the phrase "work from home" it was really strange. We rationalized it with the spam / phishing thought process, but it still seems wrong for the carriers to block messages so poor

I recommend this article frequently when someone is looking to learn about Kalman filters. It's got some nice I intuition building descriptions. I also like https://github.com/rlabbe/Kalman-and-Bayesian-Filters-in-

It seems wrong to me to give person hood to corporations. I think letting John Smith do what ever he desires is fine. Letting some entity get legal protection in the form of limited liability should remove a large number of liberties. In ot

I think the root issue is the creator didn't entirely understand what they were giving away. Harper Collins and all publishers don't create content. They are a delivery platform. Unfortunately to use their delivery platform I have

I think in a way there is a cultural failing. This feels like a problem some countries don't have. It's not uniquely US, but how big of a problem are large donors in the Netherlands, New Zealand, or Denmark?

It's been quite a while since I last used the deal since I've not been in the store. I think the last time I used it was something like $80 for $100 in playstation store gift cards, but I think I'm more used to the 10% off as

Yeah the PS4 and XBox gift cards tend to justify the membership cost on their own for me, so everything else feels like a bonus, and I don't feel bad about wasting money buying something somewhere else even if it's a bit more expe

It is of unclear legality whether a federal agent can arrest a someone for violating state law in Oregon. It is more likely that after the mayor and governor have said they don't want this to continue it is not legal. What is the requi

Definitely. JPEG2000 uses a wavelet transform instead of the DCT to achieve similar goals. One way to think of it is your transforming to some other basis. You could do something similar with any vector base change where you go from a dense

I thing DCT is a special case (only real) version of a Fourier transform.

I'm fairly fluent in both DSP and software, and find GNU radio indecipherable. A plain C/C++ implementation is often so much clearer than a flow graph built in python.

That's a very clever solution. I've been making it a point to leave my car out side in the sun rather than in the garage for the same reason, though it probably doesn't make much difference given I'm only driving once a

I considered carefully refinancing my home mortgage recently because of low interest rates. Weighing the closing costs of refinancing I wasn't excited about losing the 4k in liquidity for a net savings of 20k over the next 15 years. I

Protobuf isn't self delimiting so you still have to have some extra packet wrapper around it to say the length. I like zeromq to get to a packet based system.
