I now hacked together a really bad mixer. Not sure how it will work live. Let's see. I usually don't do prod testing but hey I'm on holiday :D

Yes they are. Technically though it's not mixed. All arriving audio data is dumped into a single buffer. Mixing would now be a great way to get rid of the stream's choppyness. now that so many users are playing simultaneously, I&#

Damn it, now you guys are all on my website and the ogg-vorbis encoding (a requirement for the stream working in Chrome) crashed and I'm not at home! Edit: I finally got home and restarted the ogg stream. Will have to find a solution f

Hi HN, OP here. If you wanna know more about the code involved in this project, I'm happy to answer your questions! WASM-STREAM is really just a quick hack for rc3, the remote chaos communication congress happening right now. But so fa

Completely non Hacker News fit but I really like listening to the German Gemischtes Hack podcast. It's essentially just two funny guys talking trash with little space for serious topics. With a media landscape that's become increa

For some reason I never ran into any problems with lifecycle methods of class components. I mean, for testing, having too many class methods is clearly annoying so I try encapsulate as much functionality into small and separate functions. B

I read The Plague this summer. I enjoy world literature. I'm a fan of existentialism. But that book. It was just too bland for me. I keep thinking back at the feeling it gave me while reading. And sometimes I feel like that I may only

Hey, actually the interface is built with React. The piano itself is a third-party component from someone on GitHub. The knobs and the ADSR graph are react components too that I released as their own packages - https://github.com

Ah yes, I know this problem. The problem is that many browsers want the audio context to be loaded upon user interaction (e.g. a key press). What causes the bug is that I essentially create the audio context and load a bunch of code. There&

I've been using preact with parcel for over half a year now and it has been a blast! It seems to be 100% compatible with React. It's fast, it's small. And with preact/compat you can use any third party react component. I
