20 years ago, I was a massive Postgres fan and I still am, but I bought and used SQL server for production systems - it was better (particularly in replication), and more importantly had better support as in being on the phone with the lead

Just having farmland be fields is not very good for the land or the eco system. Breaking up farmland with hedges, woods, wetlands or whatever nature decides it should be is often a good idea. Next best thing is to manually plant trees. Edit

If its SFP then intel, they have seem to have good ability to go into power saving states. My mellanox cards don’t. 10gbase-t ethernet is harder to pick, a lot of those cards run incredibly hot particularly the ones that expect server style

You started in the right place with music theory. As for learning synths, you can do it in two ways - just start using them, fiddling and playing (whether its a software synth or hardware synth) or you learning actually the fundamentals by

The edginess and rawness might be the limitations of the equipment used and the people using it, but for me the edge was that the music it wasn’t pigeonholed into different genres at the time. It was all working together like a Weatherall s

I can recommend more if you like and of course the Chris Cunningham video https://youtu.be/MWCSw_cNxKc Not sure I would class it as jungle though.

What I look for is, 128GB RAM minimum, decent number of PCIe lanes because I want two fast NVMe drives, a HBA card ( though this I guess could be external ), two network ports minimum, ZFS, sane terminal, native support for containers and V

As someone that used all season tires I have moved to proper winter and summer tyres /wheels - the difference in handling and braking performance I find is worth it.

It’s not inherently unreliable, but can be a bit depending in what you are doing. Debian stable on very mainstream server hardware is fine. Newer filesystems, cutting edge kernels, interesting hardware and your results may vary.

I’ve run SmartOS, but mainly use OmniOS. As with all these, they are very good but make sure to run them on supported hardware. They have good documentation, very small community, and if you run into problems then debugging them is very pos

I have run Linux, BSD and other unix for a long time (since the 90s and the very first Slackware) and continue to this day. I prefer BSD because to me it’s more logical, it rarely changes, the documentation is first class and it’s very stab

It’s not all hardware encoded - we have huge numbers of transcodes a day and quality matters for our use case. Certainly for some use cases speed and low CPU matter but not all.

I don’t have it to each room personally, but I do have it to my garage, and between floors for connecting switches together. Oh and to servers. Fibre is cheap and you can get it cut to whatever lengths, and it’s somewhat future proofed.

Vendor lockin. Knowledge transfer. And I disagree that AWS is less complex. Managing services across AWS is complex, K8s is as well but I would rather manage K8S on bare instances.

It’s probably Ryobi’s No 1 advantage, particularly as a lot of stores seem to stock a lot of the range (at least here in Europe). Makita also has a large range but I usually have to order the less popular stuff but when I get it, it’s usual
