Yeah that was a very interesting thing to learn. When my room was being tuned (after being built to a specification for acoustics) the acoustician then actually tuned in several switchable curves because it was so flat in response he wanted

Speakers often use materials that degrade over time unfortunately. For example electronics in the crossover, foam, glue, and depending on the environment paper.

Except from what I remember Bose audio stuff is measurable bad by any standards (its been a while since I even took note). Their noise cancelling was good in the past though. My personal experience of Bose PA and HiFi equipment is that is b

Alpine used to leave performance on the table by default. Something to do with the compiler having a lot of safe options and not using some CPU extensions at the time. Don’t know whether it is the case anymore, but it’s something I proved i

In Stockholm there is one taxi company that has always been better called “Taxi Stockholm”, quality cars with great experienced drivers and good service. It was a premium though. They have a good app as well. Getting in anything else is var

Took down my Pioneer Kuro a couple of weeks ago. OLED is so good now. Agree with the in store crap and all the processing that’s turned on for the TVs on display. But brightness is useful - can help combat ambient light, and HDR can look am

There are a couple of models with good sound. I got a Philips OLED910 a short while ago and that sound system surprised me. I turned it off though and use an external Atmos receiver and speakers.

It really depends on the situation and the car. I’ve had it really help and not take over too much (very modern Porsche in the mountains), and systems where it was actively making the situation much worse by alternately locking the brakes o

No, it doesn’t in the way you are intending. I run various utilities on them, but nothing that ever shows up in the interface/TV I just think of them as the best solution to run Kodi for media that is on my network.

It’s been terrible for years/forever. Even Xserves didn’t really meet the needs of a professional data centre. And it’s got worse as a server OS because it’s not a core focus. Don’t understand why anyone tries to bother - apart from th

I disagree with your take on that we should show all information to all users. It’s not always the case that they have someone on hand to help, and users do get anxiety when they do not understand or are presented with too many options. But

I don’t think that is the problem (as someone that has been described in that bracket), it’s the tooling and control that is missing. I believe that will be solved over time.

I believe there is room left, particularly as some users would still be preferring to use Freehand after all this time, but Figma is strong in this space now.

I used Quark XPress, and it really felt like it had a monopoly on the professional market in the UK at the time. It didn't really innovate, it was slow and clunky. Then InDesign came along and it was a breath of fresh air. Took many ye

The 395 although it can be supplied with 128GB can’t use all that for VRAM (unless something has changed in the last couple of weeks).

You don't, depending on your audio hardware. If it has a loopback you can just use sox from the command line to record the loop back channels...

Lots. BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, Volvo for example. I find it a pity that Lexus uses CVTs as I would probably sell my BMW 330e and get a Lexus.

I would run 2 or more parity disks always. I have had disks fail and rebuilding with only one parity drive is scary (have seen rebuilds go bad because a second drive failed whilst rebuilding). But agree about backups.

I disagree. I have what essentially is a mastering suite (i just don't do mastering very often) at home and the difference in quality between the majority of modern music and the majority of older music say 25 years and older is large.
