One anecdote. I had a friend who went from healthy to almost unable to walk through a post viral 'chronic fatigue' type thing. She couldn't really work but chronic fatigue wasn't a recognised condition for benefits so ha

I think there's a lot to be said for Switzerland's policy of strong defense and not attacking other countries. It's kind of stable and anti-fragile. It's easy to think you should be able to attack the bad guys like armin

In pre scientific times people mostly thought it was driven by spirits. God told things to exist, the devil made bad things happen, the rain god made rain and so on. It was a bit of a surprise when experimental investigation found mathemati

I use Chrome. uBlock Origin Lite works fine, basically as well as the old uBlock as far as I can tell. As to why, I kind of like it - the built in Google Lens tool is cool and I don't think is in the other browsers?

It depends a bit how you calculate your numbers. Ukraine vs Russia, Russia wins. Democratic world that doesn't want dictators invading it vs Russia, democracy wins.

I'm not totally convinced it's all over for Fedorov. Zelensky may not be keen but the people, parliament and funders have a say too.

You don't have to go to MAD, just retaliate on a similar level. Ukraine should have ballistics that can hit Moscow soon. There's also hitting the launchers and missile factories though I'm not sure Ukr has the ability to do s

Ukraine deal with the "50k Shahed drone is on course to hit your command center" stuff by having a lot of cheaper interceptors to take them out - some drones, some cheaper SAMs, some aircraft. It was a bit of a mistake of the US n
