The problem with Obsidian was that you couldn't use it on your phone at all. If they had had a hosted version with a mobile friendly web interface, i don't think a mobile app would have been neccessary

Yes, that is very annoying. In general YouTubes UX is getting worse constantly. They moved the read more button for video descriptions up and to the right directly behind the end of the description text, which makes it almost completely inv

I actually found 'the discovery of gravity' far more interesting. Depending on the style the interpretation was completely different.

Then why can i travel with a credit card without restrictions? Shouldn't that be the same as carrying my crypto wallet?

I would only allow them to do online purchases themselves once they turn 14 or so. No restrictions what they spend their money on. Reduces the risk of them falling for phishing and scams

I'm not so sure about that. Mining cards are often undervolted to run at cooler temperatures and consume less power, while gaming cards are pushed to 100% and might even be overclocked. The fans might become problematic, but i think ov

The system does not handle it. If that is a problem for you, then cryptocurrencies are not for you. In a way it's like cash. If your wallet is stolen, there is no easy way to get your money back.

To just receive: download the wallet software from getmonero.org and generate a new wallet. The are also multiple point of sale solutions available. To automate payments: run a node and use any of the RPC libraries available for various lan

The mining reward schedule has not been changed since monero was started. The tail emission was alays part of the protocol.

How would a cryptocurrency be different here? If the counterparty is known you can still go after them via the legal system. If they are unknown, there would be no way of recovering the cash either.

I'm 22. I feel like there hasn't been any major technologcal shift since ~2014. Phones have gotten faster and more capable, but are still mostly the same. Social media has gotten bigger, but hasn't innovated in a meaningful w

Interestingly DALL-E is really bad at spelling. It knows what letters look like, but struggles with words.

Why would you use bitcoin for tax evasion where everyone can see the source of the money? Isn't laundering supposed to hide the origin of funds?

Please tell me if i am wrong because i am not sure if it is right. Verifying 1 block requires the calculation of 1 hash. The hashrate for my CPU for RandomX is ~8000hashes/s. The monero blockchain currently has 2450000 blocks. blocks &

I don't really get what you are saying, but the calculation for CO2 emissions per block is basically this: reward_per_block * price = value_per_block cost_per_hash * avg_hashes_to_find_block = cost_per_block cost_per_hash is the cost o

IMO i2p integration was the right choice. I2P actively encourages P2P traffic, while on Tor it would put a lot more load on the more centralized routing nodes. Also tens of thousands are practically nothing. The general fund currently holds

I think you are misinformed about how bitcoin works. Bitcoin doesn't care how much of it you have, as it uses Proof-of-Work not Proof-of-Stake. The only thing that matters is you computational power. Now it is true that large banks cou
