That is not what is happening in this study, which is tapping into the motor system that controls the muscles used in speech. That is part of the externalisation of language, not the system of thought (which we know very little about).

The US prison system is an ongoing act of violence. Destroying and replacing them with humane systems should reduce violence.

I had a little play with Solana to see if it would be appropriate for a game I'm building, to use as an (after)marketplace for players to trade in-game items. It's quite easy to install the Solana command line tools, create a wall

I think Feynman illustrates the failure of the Mechanical Philosophy very well, but that is not incompatible with what Chomsky is saying here. In physics, you can model action at a distance with waves, fields and so on, which are part of a

Free will can't be explained any more than your sense of smell or taste can be explained. You know you have it because you know that nothing can absolutely determine your own actions. Our actions are neither deterministic nor random.

Reminds me of the John Maynard Keynes quote, "Newton was not the first of the age of reason. He was the last of the magicians". Chomsky's ideas about of innate linguistic systems in the mind seems to jibe well with Kant [1].

Please don't assume that "we" are all the same people. "We" include a lot of people from outside the US, including China. I imagine our fellow hackers in China would feel pretty alienated reading this comment.

But the upkeep cost of protecting the gold is continuous in the same way as bitcoin mining. If you want to own some gold you need to protect it (usually with the state apparatus of violence, which has massive externalities). In other words,

This might not be quite as outlandish as it sounds, because we now have plenty of evidence that early humans were living alongside and interacting with other archaic homo species. I have a pet (similarly highly speculative) theory that the
