   We can do a lot of things by bike here in the Netherlands, it is great. Shopping centers are almost always within 10/15 minutes reach by biking. Supermarkets are usually closer.

    But demand and buying with dollars is still real. No exchange is giving out tethers for free. Unbacked Tether is just not a real problem (yet). It is only going to be a problem when multiple exchanges are trying to collect, why would they?

    For one, you can't sell stocks that you don't have, like the Gamestop stock. Also you can own and transfer stock outside of exchanges, like the old paper stocks. Smart contracts could even be used for adding dividend and voting.

    Well blockchain is a very valid case for tracking assets like stocks. I guess the implementation and backwards compatibility is a big issue, also other banks don't want to hop on the hype train etc.

    At my bank, if I buy stock, it takes 5 days to clear/settle. Guess they do it by hand haha.

    Depends if they have to show some proof. Like in the example. Also Uber could also hide names in the app, why are they even needed to accept rides?
