One could relatively easily make a prankster device for screwing with the chargers. That said they are somewhat more than just a dumb extension cord and they require a bit of negotiation (and I assume constant communication) with the car t

The 2013 and newer Leafs have a variety of options for this. The default "automatic" mode behavior is to lock the plug when charging then unlock when charging is complete. Not totally sure if you can unlock the charger.

The reason you have your camera at home and your smartphone with you is because it is a smartphone. I'm not totally sure it has anything to do with the form factor.

I had the same reaction. My assumption was that this camera allows for variable depth of field in post production, but virtually nothing about the video says this. They showed someone tweaking a photo but the shot was too short and subtle

I agreed with most of these suggestions. I'm not sure the suggestion to use a struct pattern is worth the lack of JavaBeans support in argle support libraries. You can always use final properties and only provide getters. I think ass

I have two kids in elementary school, K and 2nd grade. The last few years the school district has been experimenting with Chromebook carts they would send to various classrooms once or twice a week. This year, they went with Chromebooks f

When they released this a couple of months ago I was pretty excited to try it out. I think the barrier to installation is a bit high. First install Windows 10, then custom install of VS, install IoT Templates, then about 30 more steps befo

The Federal and State subsidies for EV's drive down the used market value of the cars substantially. I just purchased a 2013 Nissan Leaf and you can get the base models all day long for 10k, or 13k'ish for the high end model. T

You are probably largely correct. A couple of counter-examples. They are from the Apollo program, hopefully they qualify as roughly equivalent. NASA decided they needed honeycomb composites to insulate fuel tanks, but could not come up wi

Kansas City, MO and Uber have worked out their differences. I believe Uber will provide background check info to the city about their drivers, and pay a flat fee to cover all their drivers in the city. http://www.bizjournals.com

This looks like a cool project. Is it just me or has Caddy carried on the grand web server tradition of using a config file format that is sort of like, but not quite any other existing format.

Objectively, for virtually any definition of 'fidelity' vinyl has less fidelity than digital systems. If you read about the production on vinyl you will get a pretty good idea of the series of compromises in fidelity that are req

The effects in the battle sequences of SPR are not a result of high-speed film per se, but the result of altering the effective shutter speed of the camera to reduce motion blur (switching from 180 degree shutter to 90 or 45 situationally).
