This article is written for someone who already understands the old issue that this is fixing (there's nothing wrong with writing it like that). But for someone like me that doesn't understand when you need to use this `bind()` s

I'm also building a javascript game (I'm using canvas and 2d images). All the comments here are freaking me out a bit. They all keep saying that html5 games are too slow. My game has many significant features done and it seems

Your second paragraph is very relevant to my feelings. "Same actions, new background" is pretty much how I felt when playing. I think I may have gotten to act 2.5, too.

I like the swagger layout. http://swagger.wordnik.com/#!/pet Their developer documentation is kind of tricky to figure out though.

I haven't played D1/2/3 but I've played torchlight 1-2. I don't like TL2. For some reason when I play TL2 I'm very aware that the next thing I'll be doing is the thing I'm already doing. Playing the

I think the article was well written. This is the standard example to use for a Trie. But I never run into any scenarios except for this that make me think, "A Trie is a good fit for this!" What are some other examples where Tr

Really good info. I'd love (and even prefer) to release my game today so I can get feedback earlier. But in its current state (shitty graphics, no tutorial, 50% of the intended features implemented) I'm lost as to if that would

I disagree. That's not obvious. It's relatively easy to explain parallelism, concurrency, recursion, currying, idempotency, the visitor pattern, etc. etc. This is different. MVC names are really annoying and poorly chosen. E

I'm not saying put it in models I'm saying it's part of the Model of MVC. If you've got a class called FooBarService that takes a model and executes business logic on it, that FooBarService can still be part of the

No that's what the model is for. The controller is just for handling framework specific input. It takes the framework specific part, puts it in a form that the business logic can understand (eg: business logic shouldn't even kno

The original flaw, if you ask me, is the naming. WTF is a model? WTF is a controller? WTF is a view? You can (and I have) explained this to a newbie for an hour and they still won't get it. They may as well have named it 123. At l

I'm sorry this is off topic, but that slideshare ui is so annoying. Why doesn't it progress one slide when I click on the slide? I hate how I have to precisely click on that tiny "next" button to go to the next slide.

Did you really mean to use the phrase "complete refactor" here? AFAIK, refactoring means modifying your code without modifying features. That's very different from a "complete rewrite".

Just FYI, if I were in your boat I'd probably feel the same way. I chose my words very carefully: 1. I compared bare-bones IDEs because I know resharper levels the playing field. 2. When I said, "All things being equal (that incl
