The problem is, there's often too much of a focus on design. Apple's power supplies for their laptops are really expensive, yet they offer limited interchangeability for the cables, so if a plug fails (due to the design) then most people en

The good thing about QR codes is there's lots of capacity. Hashtags would become more complex and longer as additional locations are included, whereas QR codes look the same.

I don't know, seems more childish than nerdy to me. Being nerdy is being enthusiastic about something, whereas all this Ninja stuff is like escaping from the real world and hiding in your childhood imagination.

Presumably the "crapware" is subsidising the price. Using the term "crapware" is a bit loaded and borderline swearing, it just doesn't seem like a good technical term to use - even though I don't like the stuff myself.

If someone's complaining about the size of a monitor as a reason for leaving then there's a good chance that it isn't the monitors! People don't like burning bridges when they leave a job, so they are highly unlikely to say the real reason

Hate to say it, but I suspect that showing photos will put some customers off because the products don't look substantial enough. I realise that there are overheads and that your service is presumably aimed at people with a high enough disp

Website owners don't like CPC because the advertisers try to push branded ads that don't ask for a click (essentially free advertising). It was only with the advent of Adsense that CPC became acceptable due to super efficient targeting, and

BitTorrent moves the bandwidth load towards the street-level networking gear, which is expensive to upgrade because there's lots of it. The copyright lobbies just give them a convenient excuse for getting rid of the problem.

Those high-carb diets were probably useful several decades ago, especially in countries that suffered from the world wars. I think it had good intentions but due to those commercial influences, the advice wasn't adapted to fit modern lifest

I have only recently started looking at the Raspberry Pi, one thing that struck me was the use of SD memory for storage... I have used USB sticks to boot Linux before and they only lasted a few months of continuous use. Perhaps I'm missing

Probably means highbrow rather than class level - you can be lower class and still appreciate high culture. Though I personally don't get Quora - unless it's some sort of faux research department for one of the big tech companies (i.e. dest

In relation to point one. Everyone is biased no matter how hard they try not to be, at least with Portillo you know what you are getting and can treat it with a pinch of salt.

It's one of the reasons for gravitating towards open source and specialist firmwares. These sorts of devices are too sophisticated to be trustworthy.

I think what outsiders don't realise (due to this hype) is that most of the CCTV isn't linked together. The majority of it is privately run by local businesses and households - it is used after a crime is committed to provide evidence of sa

All news channels are skewed one way or another, RT is no different. I suggest that it's a step up from CCTV though. Either way, if you plan to watch a rolling news channel, watch as many different ones as you can.

I just like everything to be upfront with no hidden costs, rather than having the social pressures of paying for other people's employees. For example, would I receive a lower level of service than new customers if I returned after not tipp

Not being from the States I really don't like tipping, I guess at least with this system it gets rid of the variables, like is tipping expected? How much is acceptable? etc. To me, tipping is just a sign that a business isn't charging enoug

I think the UKs main problem is alcohol abuse, which has a tendency to fuel violence - thankfully the violence is mostly limited to pointy things due to guns being banned.

One thing to bear in mind is that Opera employs "web openers" who will lobby and actively help Google to support the browser (so that "try me" link may not be as superficial as it looks). That said, blocking IE is silly.

Even then, lifetime subscriptions were rendered useless in the UK when TiVo dropped support for the original product and teamed up with a cable company. So it was neither a lifetime subscription for the hardware nor the customer.

Just a side note. I noticed that when you quoted the first line, you subconsciously added the first two contracted "is" words. When I read the text, I found the first line difficult to read due to the contractions. I wonder why they did it

I cannot comprehend why they even thought about allowing the use of a reward scheme on an unlimited product. Reward schemes are there to increase the purchases of one-off products, whereas you want to deter unlimited customers from abusing
