The link to the CHG (which I confused with IHG) is using HTTPS but it seems the redirect to GitHub works only in HTTP. I'm not sure what stating CHG sponsors the new site means.

I still don't understand why new subreddit or IRC channel are necessary. They could be used strictly to talk about the new site, but it seems they will be targeted to all things Haskell, exactly like the existing places. Otherwise I&#x

I'm from Belgium, just like Pieter, and a former colleague of mine worked with him and knows him well. I didn't want to read its previous blog post when I saw the title on HN. Then that former colleague posted it on Facebook, and

For those in this thread that speculate about hitting this or this before reacting: nuclear weapons take a certain time to reach a target and retaliation would happen before _any_ nuclear explosion occurs.

There was a kickstarter[0] about reissuing that manual. I'm sad I missed it. If I understand correctly, they did another kickstarter for another manual and then released it again[1] in smaller format out of the kickstarter. Maybe they&

You'll have to invest into learning a few legal things, one of them being how to liquidate a corporation. For instance how much does it cost to wind up ?

You should read the parts where it says US has done similar tests and that "In response to US weaponisation of space, the Chinese started a space defense program, including anti-satellite defense." That being said, this is a great

I reported it a long time ago and it was eventually fixed a few months later. The bug report is on Launchpad but I don't know if they opened it to the public. Here is a similar issue filled on GitHub (they moved there from Launchpad an

When I was working for OpenERP, I thought it was surely possible for a user of one database to access other databases (when OpenERP run in multi-tenant mode, which was the case of the official OpenERP SaaS offer) by poking around the connec

Your example is very different. It seems you're still describing a pure API: testing those new function implementations can be done with the same test suite used for the slower variants. In the blog post the author choose to specify th

The name you want for "in the language" is EDSL: Embedded DSL. DSL is quite often used for library-level constructs but really, any concrete syntax (e.g. graphviz's dot format) is a DSL.

The verbosity of Java isn't necessary in all statically-typed languages. For instance Haskell is no more verbose than, say, Python, and has an even more expressive static type system than Java.

It would be interesting to see if QC would find data easily that brake the implementations or require some tuning in the way it generates test data. And sorry, I have downvoted you by mistake when I wanted to reply.

Here in Belgium, there are terms that people put in their legal document that shouldn't be present and would be considered invalid (as if they were not present) irrespective of the fact you agreed to them. Examples that come to mind: p
