Hardly. CO2 doesn't care where it came from. 1. You preferentially close TPPs in CA, while still offsetting the whole country's emission. 2. Transmission lines are a thing, including HVDC lines 3. There are how many massive metro

The midwest has terrible weather (hence the water). A solar panel outside of Southwest is a solar panel that produces a fraction of its potential.

Ethanol corn might be stupid stupid, but midwest farming is far more valuable than a stupid government subsidy program (ethanol i mean). The midwest has water. Or at least far more of it than Arizona or California. If we're going to

Let me see if I understand what this is. It used to be the actual feature size which was quadratically proportional to transistor density. Once feature size stopped being meaningful they continued using it by extrapolating from transistor d

"For fab processes we should just switch to transistor density." Indeed May I propose transistor density divided by the (ergodic) average transistor switching power?

1.6 nm is 16 A. If they continue the BS for much longer, the "feature size" will be smaller than the lattice of Si.

Someone who uses the word "skeuomorphism" is probably a domain expert and notices every little change. Most people you talk to dont notice any change until they pick up a device not updated for the better part of a decade

Heck, Ill double down. Go back to the late 80s and compare Mac GUI to window's. There are still important themes in the Mac UI that remain, specifically the menu bar at the top. I could get around System 1.0 even though Ive never touch

Now do Windows. Circa 2002, so you're baseline is XP. Go through those UI changes and the change backs. Don't forget the detours! At one point (purportedly) MS had a phone and they made their desktop look like a phone UI.

Also. But if you're blind, I bet youd hate the UI you cant see and you've memorized changing under you.

Consistency throughout the user experience and, most importantly, consistency through time. Macos ui is largely frozen in 2002ish IOS is frozen in 2008ish This is why blind people only ever use iOS. (Linux user myself)

As someone who hasn't used windows since Win7, I'm amazed people are blaming windows for this. While all software is buggy to some extent, Hisense TV is probably maliciously changing their UUID so users cant block their telemetry,

How does this distinguish between a bug and a "feature"? Edit: i mean this is the spirit of Knuth's quip that when he dies all the bugs in tex will become features

Old becomes new, the SGI O2 had (off chip) a unified memory model for performance reasons. Not a CS guy, but it seems to me that NUMA like architecture has to come back. Large RAM on chip (balancing a thermal budget between #ofcores vs ram)

Well as a quick study, look up "where's daddy" and "Lavender" as exposed by (ironically) Israeli media. Btw, one of the best sources in this conflict is Israeli media. Especially the Hebrew language one.

The US security apparatus wants to prevent it. They know, win-lose, it'd be disastrous for us. Bibi, on the other hand, avoids jail time only as long as Ben-Gvir keeps his government propped up. And Gvir wants war.

Israel has admited it blew $1 billion in AD on Friday. AD we seemingly cant build anymore (see Ukr. war). What fraction of its arsenal do you think Iran used up on Friday? That's the real question. If half, Israel can easily smack Iran
