To late to edit this and it came out a little further to one side of the argument than I was going for. A better analogy would be what one would expect from a private security company which is contracted to protect certain houses businesses

I doubt it. However, a man (or woman) could go to war to defend their country against an aggressor and do so effectively without torturing or raping anyone. However, they pretty much have to be prepared to kill people... Indeed many modern

Murder yes that's sort of the point. Torture and rape are not required.

As a counterpoint let's use a simple analogy. Me calling the police if I see someone breaking into my neighbours house takes effort as well. In this situation no one would expect that I should have my neighbour to pay me a retainer fir

Interesting. I guess the question is for something as big as this should companies like cloudflare have a obligation to protect everyone using their service (rather than just those on a certain support level)?

Both. For example even on my own laptop I would like to keep the admin user's e.g. python and python imaging library as the system python and my general work user's python as the version that works best with the latest numpy-scipy

Installing to a users home. I.e. no sudo needed for package management. For example I currently install all my python, R and Haskell stuff in my home using each languages' own package management rather than system wide and it would be

Some time ago I messed around and somehow managed to break my Ubuntu system so that it wouldn't boot. Instead of bothering to work out how to fix it I just re-installed (with a different version number) and kept my old /home parti

This could be libel... Or blackmail... If the OP does not have evidence to back up the claim he could be the one paying. (I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice and I assume nor are you.)

You mean to say, "Move one everyone nothing to see here"? The circumstances were fishy - in a way that says don't trust the software to anyone that has anything to hide.
