+1100€ for the 2TB upgrade nowadays, thats not an "Apple tax" anymore thats just straight up robbery. Even a pcie gen5 nvme costs only about 300€, even with todays prices, so 600€ would be quite in line with Apple pricing, but 110

No need for git, syncthing does exactly that (listening to file activity events in selected folders and syncing the change, with twoway sync if so desired) and its free!

Depending on your current setup, dRaid can give you quite the performance boost nowadays, since its data slabs are spread out over all disks in the array its using all of the disks bandwith combined.

It might not be the fastest, but at least it supports setting/keeping file creation time - unlike the clusterf*ck we still have on basically all Linux filesystems unfortunately

I agree with Scott, no need to use rsync - he should have used rclone instead! It can be easily installed in the package manager, and with 4 threads (or multiples of 4) it fully uses/saturates the 4 1GbE links. Also a hint for anyone p
