If it gets to that point laws may be passed to make it illegal to collect rainwater or harvest water from the air. Some states already have such laws.

Reddit and Facebook are not a single community, they are many communities some of which have a very high bar for quality, and some of which are a free for all that tends toward low quality memes and trolling.

Seems the factory workers are in a bad spot either way, at least the vr version is presumably more “enjoyable”.

FB Groups, subreddits, discords all fulfilling this purpose. The thing with these products is you seem to either get “social graph” focused or “interest” focused.

Add a layover and you could easily be at 20+ hours (which is common since NZ is small so there aren’t that many flights). Europe is well over 24 hours even to the major hubs.

Why do you want to go without a car so badly? I get not wanting one IN the city (did it for several years myself), but outside of the city driving is not bad at all.

Maybe a few, but I’ve heard their US offices are more than 90% Chinese.

Not sure about your overall points but Israel is far from homogenous with a large part of the country literally controlled by another government (Palestine).

Facebook and Google certainly pay for 80 then. The average senior engineer there definitely makes at least double what someone at USPS IT does...

Whether the period since 2008 has been a true expansion is arguable. On the surface level equity prices increased, yet there hasn’t been much if any inflation or wage growth and yields have gone down for most assets.

Did you miss the part where Reddit has 500 employees whereas FB has 40000? There was a point in Reddit history where there was literally 1 engineer.

It would be too expensive to use for a commute, so I doubt it would let too many people move outside the city.

Pretty sure if you go through the effort to challenge such charges you can get them changed. https://www.vox.com/2019/3/22/18261698/how-to-fight-expensiv...

It was definitely common for homeless and mentally ill people to be on the free ride buses, but I don’t know if I’d say it was a primary reason it was cancelled. Seemed more about costs.

Maybe you shouldn’t stop your history at 1832. If nullification were a thing we’d still have slavery in the south.

So you’re saying Uber should have to pay drivers more so that you have to pay less taxes? Sounds like everyone is acting in their own self interest and the market is working just fine...
