"Free/pirated" services should just be tracked and the artist should be compensated from an organization (a'la rcaa/mpaa/etc). The "organization" could be government, but I'm sure that would not

They really push ssh certificate auth vs key auth. Each has their tradeoffs. If you're going to go through implementing a pki for ssh, I'd throw in something like kerberos also to look into.

My bad. It was a rhetorical question. I don't find anything intellectually interesting about madden though and I suppose that's why I got a little snippy. Supposedly "Hacker News" is intellectually interesting news for

His list for characters easily confused is weird... the bulk of them I've never had problems disambiguating. My simple test is: lI1O0 and to just stay with monospace.

I didn't watch the whole presentation, but I like the style of being able to read along. This guy is clearly a High Priest of the Church of Emacs. side note: I think he should just call it gimp and not worry about the heathens who th

Well, do you think our politicians aren't in the same position of the esteemed Michael Kail, VP of Netflix IT Operations? People in power are going to be hit with sex, money, or power. Money, it seems, is just the easiest attack vect

The article is not exactly well written. I don't really follow web developments anymore because the web, well, sucks; So, after reading, I'm still not even sure what "manifest v3" is about and why I should care. I know

I think actually physically going through your disaster recovery plan (whatever that would be, 321 or not) reveals how good/bad your backup plan is for you. Personally, I downsized. I made peace with myself that I can live without the

That's cool. I didn't know ssh-keygen could do this, but, to be honest, the UX of gpg is a step better as it manages the "allowed signers" file. Not that ssh-keygen couldn't do that, but it seems to be minimal des

Exactly. I support banning e-bikes (and anything with a motor) from barely existent bicycle/pedestrian paths/infrastructure. E-bikes can simply use the current beautifully supported motorized roadways.

Lot of hacker news is blaming Denuvo. I disagree. This just goes to show how Intel has failed at pre-grade school level of implementation and testing of processor design.
