   They have no authority over the English language. They do have the right to request a specific name when used in an organization in which they are a part. You are free to use whatever name you want, while those in the UN, and organizations

   No entity has that power, but that was not the question. The question was not who enforces country names, but instead, why major news publications are using the name Türkiye.

   You are free to use their old name, and others are free to use their new name. You could even make up a name if you want.
