They do get a dime. When I buy a new hardcover book I remember that the book will have a resale value and account for that in what I am prepared to pay.

Is this sarcastic? Borrowing millions of dollars at 20-30% to compete with some cash rich companies who already dominate the market seems crazy - (borrowing at 5% could be another matter).

I guess if there was an opportunity that had to be taken now you might consider it - but spend some serious time modelling the risk. 30% is too high for week to week cash flow issues though I agree.

Actually the uk is one of the only counties in the world that has no protection against retrospective legislation - and has implemented retrospective legislation in recent history. Having said this ignoring this vote would be very foolish.

You are aware that these petitions are just that - petitions. Anyone can start one about anything. They have no constitutional meaning and can be totally ignored (and usually are).

No the uk has no direct democracy. Parliament is sovereign not the electorate. Indeed before any referendum the uk parliament has to pass specific legislation binding itself to the result+. These petitions are a relatively new thing and hav

? Tor is freely available to any one. Tor browser is so simple my mother uses it. At this point I don't understand why people would do a websearch for something they would not discuss in public without using Tor.
